The Gym, The Hormones And The Fibromyalgia Symptoms
When you encounter the symptoms from your chronic condition of fibromyalgia, you will always want to find the quickest and most effective way to gain some relief from them because you know that if you don’t, you could miss work, family events and be completely incapacitated for several hours if not several days. Some of the symptoms can include: soreness in muscles, anxiety, depression, and of course excruciating joint pain; every fibromyalgia sufferer has to go through the overwhelming pain that makes you want to curl up in a ball and find a quiet corner to suffer in. And the condition gets worse, mentally, as there is no cure for the chronic syndrome of fibromyalgia so the only relief that can be had is through the use of a fibromyalgia treatment option. These fibromyalgia treatment options need to be determined with advice from your primary care physician and carried out on a regular, consistent basis in order for the fibromyalgia treatment to become effective.
Treatment Via The Gym Or Local Park
When I found out that exercise, not popping pills, was a more effective way to combat fibromyalgia, it took me by surprise. Walking is one of the best and easiest exercises. It is suggested to start with just five minutes of walking. After that, they should add a minute each day until they are up to walking for about an hour. It is also suggested to try to walk an hour at least three to four times each week. Once walking for an hour seems easier, it is suggested alternated walking and light jogging. If you prefer not to walk, then try using a bike. Bicycling is safest when using a stationary bike to reduce any risk of falling; plus, it is important to start slow with and gradually move up the amount of time spent bicycling until the fibromyalgia sufferer is able to ride for approximately an hour. After an hour becomes easier, then they can set mileage goals. Swimming is also a low impact exercise. It is suggested to start treading water for a few minutes, and then build up from there. After treading water becomes easier, the fibromyalgia sufferer should move up to swimming laps for about 30 minutes. Water aerobics are also a good idea for fibromyalgia sufferers. Another good low impact exercise is strength training; it is typically added to an existing exercise program. Fibromyalgia sufferers should use really light weights and be very careful because using too much weight or performing improper movements can cause injury or additional soreness.
Sack The Symptoms On A Hormonal Level
For those who suffer from fibromyalgia on a chronic everyday basis, you might wonder where does the do the symptoms and painful outbursts come from. Well, there are several different hormonal imbalances that have been greatly researched. Some theories have not even really gotten off the ground. Three prime hormones have been researched extensively: insulin, thyroid and progesterone.
ü Progesterone – The first hormonal imbalance has to do with progesterone. Both men and women’s body produce progesterone which is one of the few that we both do produce. Its highest concentration is in the brain because it’s a necessity for nerve health and function. Progesterone works throughout the body from women’s reproductive organs to peripheral nerves. Several fibromyalgia sufferers have taken a progesterone supplement and many of their health issues have gotten much better. It is also referred to as the happy hormone because it helps to even out mood swings and lift spirits.
ü Insulin – One of the biggest hormonal disturbances speculated to ignite fibromyalgia is insulin. Thousands of fibromyalgia patients suffer from hypoglycemia and diabetes. Hypoglycemia is when the body reacts by supplying too much insulin when too much sugar is eaten. When the body supplies too much insulin, it destroys most of the sugar in the blood just a few hours after eating. The results of low blood pressure include the mind becoming fuzzy and the person becoming disoriented.
ü Thyroid – Another possibility could that the fibro victim has low thyroid hormone function. After extensive research, it is common to find a thyroid deficiency in fibromyalgia patients. Low thyroid secretions can also increase weight and lower the person’s metabolism which will only intensify the fibro pain and joint symptoms.
